Most Andiamo Travelers are familiar with the stunning Belmond Splendido Hotel in Portofino, but we are excited to share the unveiling of its luxurious, newly-renovated sister property, the Splendido Mare. With just 14 units, this boutique property provides the excellency travelers have come to expect from the Belmond brand with a nostalgic nod the glamour and allure of Italian design. 

World-renowned architects Hugo Sauzay and Charlotte de Tonnac from Festen Architecture Studio led the design team to create a style of soft-spoken luxury and understated glamour, highlighting the natural pallet of colors found throughout the region. Each accommodation showcases the historical backdrop of Portofino canvased through your bedroom window. Encompassing the past and present of the South of Italy, expect the communal spaces to be tastefully adorned with over 100 pieces of art crafted  by local Italian artisans and the classic fabrics and furniture from Tuscany.

The property is set to feature a renown culinary experience at their signature restaurant DaV Mare – bringing together the 3-Michelin Star Cerea Family with Milan’s Dav Vittorio. The chefs will join Roberto Villa, who has spent over 25 years cooking in Liguria, to serve up the best local ingredients that the area has to offer, mixing both land and sea. In classic Italian fashion, the restaurant and bar will serve as the vibrant hub of the hotel. 

Expect bespoke experiences, such as riding in the property’s one-of-a-kind Vespa fashioned by a famous designer (yet to be disclosed) and relaxing at the exclusive beach club. Having access to a pristine beach will make all of the difference while staying in Portofino.
