Iceland Opening Borders to Vaccinated US Travelers

With positive news coming in daily, many US travelers are starting to look ahead at where to travel this summer. While Summer 2021 will still come with enhanced COVID-19 entry protocols, many destinations are gearing up to welcome tourists. If Iceland was on your bucket list before, the latest announcement on March 26, 2021 that Iceland will open its borders to vaccinated or recovered US and UK travelers, may move it up a few notches!

Although Iceland is a small country, the unique, volcanic island has so much natural beauty to explore with its array of waterfalls, hot springs, glaciers and beaches. Allow us to plan the perfect outdoor escape for you throughout the country with stays in charming chalets overlooking breathtaking landscapes. We like to end our trip at the Blue Lagoon Resort & Spa for serious R&R before heading home.

Home to one of 25 wonders of the world, Blue Lagoon Iceland is a place where the powers of geothermal seawater create transformational spa journeys. The expansion was completed in 2018 opening the Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland. Included in Time Magazine's list of the World's 100 Greatest Places, the property features a 62-room luxury hotel, a subterranean spa, a mineral-rich lagoon, and two restaurants.

Tucked away in the remote Troll Peninsula, Deplar Farm offers a retreat filled with activities year-round. In summer, you can go on a mountain biking adventure, hiking, or go picking wild blueberries in the valley. In winter, watch the Northern Lights from the outdoor pool filled with pure and natural spring water harvested from the valley and heated geothermally to the perfect temperature.

Andiamo Pro Tip:

Enjoy a day a retreat at the Blue Lagoon to experience its natural healing spa and finish the evening with Mother’s Nature’s own Northern Light show.
