September Spotlight: Maine

For travelers looking to soak up the last days of summer or for those in search of a new backdrop for your WFH office, Maine is the destination for your Fall travel. With daytime weather in the mid to high 70s, you’ll still be able to make the most of the outdoor adventures and beachside dining options. We have been loving the laid back vibes and upscale accommodations offered in the coastal area of Kennebunkport as well as the historic Relais & Chateaux Blair Hill Inn, sitting north in Greenville on Moosehead Lake.

White Barn Inn

A local landmark for over 150 years, Auberge has ensured that the White Barn Inn remains a timeless framework in New England hospitality and traditions, while also incorporating modern furnishings to meet your every need. Guests can choose from restored coastal rooms and suites within the main inn building or one of the five private waterfront cottages for the ultimate seclusion. The spa features raindrop therapies based on Native American wellness traditions  as well as a menu of traditional and holistic treatments and experiences. The property is just a ½ mile walk into downtown Kennebunkport where you can stroll around to try the famous lobster roll from The Clam Shack or the local craft beers from the local breweries in town.

Hidden Pond

Select from a variety of unique Cottages, Bungalows and new Treetop lodge accommodations to select the perfect option for your family. Each option within the community provides a private option for laid back luxury amidst the 60-acres of birch groves and the sandy beaches of the Southern Maine coast.  There are two outdoor heated pools, an expansive beach with full-service at the Tides Beach Club and plenty of fitness, golf and nature walks and hikes to keep you busy. This year, the resort is offering “Porch Picnic” dinners for guests who prefer to have their meals at their home base instead of in the dining at the Earth restaurant.

The Tides Beach Club

Notably the only waterfront hotel on Goose Rocks Beach, this is an Andiamo favorite for guests looking for a vibrant scene right on the beach! The property features 21 guest rooms, including two oceanfront suites and the guarantee that you can fall asleep with the soothing sounds of the ocean waves lapping on the shore. Guests can explore the surrounding area with nature walks on the salt marches, kayaking or paddle boarding along the coastal line and cycling trails with varying terrain throughout the autumn season.

With just 10 Guest Rooms and only one that can accommodate a family of 4, expect privacy and social distancing at a premium at this stunning property. Just outside your door, there are over 21 acres of mountains and lake for hiking, biking and water activities. The Blair Hill Restaurant features a six-course locally sourced cuisine that highlights Maine’s special offerings as well as provides a connection with the local communities of farmers, fishermen and foragers. The Spa is housed in a beautifully restored barn and uses Farmaesthics and all-natural products and treatments to provide a truly unique experience and sense of place.
