Many travel trends are predicting that this summer is going to be the “Summer of the Road Trip”, a somewhat forgotten classic American vacation. However, for those of you like us who are used to exploring the world on a plane, the idea may make you a little uneasy. This got us thinking – how can we combine the comforts of luxury travel while maintaining the essence of exploring the great outdoors?

MEET: THE AMAN TRAIL

Combining some of the Western US’s must-see destinations with the tried and true domestic Aman favorites. This itinerary will take you from Canyon Point, Utah where you can get out and see Zion and Bryce National Parks through Park City and end in gorgeous Jackson Hole, Wyoming near Yellowstone National Park.

Whether you’re the type who likes to rent a car and be at the wheel or you’d prefer to sit back and let a private driver take you on your journey.

ITINERARY:

3-4 nights at Amangiri

1-2 nights in Park City/Deer Valley

2-3 nights at Amangani

STOP #1: AMANGIRI (CANYON POINT, UT)

The destination that should be on everyone’s list, Amangiri is an oasis in the midst of *** . Arriving may be the most challenging part, but we can guarantee that you will not want to leave. Guests can either fly into Las Vegas or Phoenix for a 4hr drive or take a connecting flight into Page Municipal Airport where the staff from Amangiri will greet you with a complimentary private transfer to the property (just 20min away)!

Arrive into the 600-acre wilderness sanctuary in Southern Utah where you will experience privileged access to National Parks (Zion and Bryce Canyon), Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon (only 30min away). While there is much to see in the surrounding areas, you also don’t need to ever leave the property. Amangiri have many bespoke adventures and culture activities onsite, along with daily hikes and fitness classes. Not to mention the Aman Spa boasting over 25,000sqft of treatment rooms, fitness centers and sauna and steam facilities.

Amangiri features 34 secluded desert and mesa view suites. And as of July 1, 2020, Camp Sarika will open on property. This tented cluster of 10 canvas-topped pavilions, each with a private plunge pool allows for the greatest expression of “glamping” yet to sweep the country. Rates include full-board meal plans (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and all non-alcoholic beverages).

*Amangiri is planning to reopen on May 21, 2020.

STOP #2: PARK CITY/DEER VALLEY

On your last day at Amangiri, we recommend waking up early to enjoy one last breakfast on your private terrace and to really take in the views before the drive to Park City. It is approximately 5.5-6hrs, but to break up the drive, we’ll ensure you are armed with spots to stop for breathtaking views and to grab a quick lunch.

While many think of Park City and Deer Valley as a fabulous ski destination or the locale of the Sundance Film Festival, these cities in the summer are something to be seen. With countless delicious restaurants and spacious hotels, this is the perfect pitstop on your journey. Depending on how long you’re able to travel, we would recommend 1-2 nights here to enjoy your surroundings

STOP #3: AMANGANI (JACKSON HOLE, WY)

Leaving behind the mountain ranges of Utah, your drive to your final stop will take you north to Jackson Hole – home to Yellowstone National Park. Perched on the edge of a hilltop on the fringe of Grand Teton National Park, sits Amangani. The name means “peaceful home”, which is certainly the atmosphere you will feel upon entering the grounds.

Immerse yourself in the beautiful, natural surroundings and enjoy delicious farm to table dining, which can be served fireside in your suite or on the expansive sun deck of the restaurant overlooking the Snake River Valley. Amangani’s in-house naturalists can lead private tours at the nearby parks. There are also activities right near the property, such as horseback riding through the valley or hiking the local trails.

Amangani has 40-suites ranging in size and style, all with spacious bedrooms, living area or separate room and spacious bathroom. Andiamo travelers will receive a complimentary upgrade on arrival, daily breakfast for two and complimentary lunch for two people once during your stay. The property is located just a short drive to the JAC airport for your flight home.
